We flew from Orlando to harlingen, and neither in Orlando or our layover in Houston did the TSA pat down my 8 year old twin boys like that.

No residue test. They had them take off their shoes, checked their backpacks, and walked through the scanners.

I would have told them no had they tried to do a pat down.

Agreed, but what other venue is there? The people in charge of the TSA clearly aren't listening. Perhaps there is wisdom in letting this issue simmer long enough for "TSA Reform" to become a major election issue, but if it isn't already, I'm rather frightened to think of how bad they'll have to get. And if it's just "TSA Reform" we'd still be left with the underlying cause of our government not respecting the US Constitution and overstepping its bounds. (Of course, making a donkey of yourself at the airport doesn't solve this either, so maybe that's the proof that it's not worth doing.)

Rosa Parks didn't have a CHL to lose. She was a brave woman.

I found myself on the TSA blog site where TSA responds to this incident. There were over 300 comments and well over 90% of them were opposed to TSA policies and particularly frisking six year old American girls as was done in the search under discussion (446 comments now: http://blog.tsa.gov/) So TSA is well aware of how their policies are being received: they just don't care.

Now, when I say TSA doesn't care, I'm not necessarily talking about those on the front lines --I'm talking about Big Sis and her coterie of collectivists at the top. In fact, Big Sis says "toughen up" (IOW, suck it up): http://townhall.com/columnists/dianawes ... ghening_up

And note the little game she played with what are described as "conservative-mined journalists."

Wow! Ask anything you want, but we'll squash anything we don't handle well, in retrospect.

Perhaps DHS should be renamed. I kinda like the "Ministry of Truth" (Reference: "Nineteen Eighty Four")

I got to meet the head of the TSA today. I didn't really want much to do with him, so I didn't pose any questions for him to dodge.

Those that believe pat downs of 6 year old girls (after already being subjected to a nude-o-scan) are necessary security procedures have been conditioned to believe so, or they have other interests in play (that differ from the typical traveler).

There is a far greater likelihood that young girls subjected to unwanted touching will end up being drug addicted porn actresses, rather than there being a realistic threat of destructive substances being smuggled on their bodies.

As others have stated, this is mostly security theater that is reactive, at best. Failed shoe bomber attempt...take your shoes off. Threat of liquids being used in plot...limit carry on liquids. Failed underwear bomber...nude-o-scans and enhanced pat downs. Are you all going to subject yourself and family members to searches after someone tries to smuggle a destructive substance in a body cavity?

We could just go back to the way things were on 9/10. Nay, to hard to get all that sand out of the ear holes.

Armed pilots and sealed cockpit doors will prevent another 911. This is tyranny.

Not to those conditioned to believe it makes them safer (or those that work or hope to work for the "state").

When I went in the Army there was always guys talking about Vietnam where little girls would run up to the soldiers with a basket of fruit only to have it blow up and kill them, maybe it was just urban legend I was not there I don't know. Bottom-line evil comes in many packages and yes even a 7 yo white girls can be coerced into being a mule. I did not see any groping or "bad touching" going on the girl did not even seem to really care. I see this as a non-issue.

I know of some army outposts that had to cut down small Arabic children that wouldn't turn around and stop walking towards the facility. Numerous stories of AQ using these little ones as suibombs.
