3/10/2011 - Status updated
3/21/2011 - Called and was told my application was given to a technician, due to something on my background check.

3/23/2011 - Wife's status changed to pending manufacture.
3/24/2011 - Wife's is in the mail.
3/28/2010 - Received.

I'm still waiting. ]I've called the past three Mondays to check status, today the guy told me that I was calling too much.[/color]
I only call because they provide better info over the phone. Calling once a week and speaking to somebody for less than 2 minutes isn't too much, is it?
Not to be bitter or rude, but I think you probably are calling a lil too often... Seems that a few applications have flown through there office, and others (like mine and yours) have gone rather slowly. I don't have anything on my background check, and my online status still says "background check: under review". But I am only at 38 days (recieved in Austin Feb 19). They still state on there website that they will do there best to get you a CHL within 60 days, but processing can take up to 180 days.

So I would just wait (easier said than done!!!) and try to relax a lil!! Trust me, I know it is not going to be easy!! :cheers2:

I think the above is true, especially when they're waiting on BG check stuff. I'm pretty sure that is handled by an outside party, so it's sort of a "when we know something, you will know something". I'm as anxious as anyone else, so I definitely understand the urgency. I've just decided to wait until I hear something from them. They're not going to forget about me, and my calling isn't going to make anything go any faster. As much as I'd love a realtime status... it'll happen when it happens.

on another note: yesterday I was scheduled to get my fingerprints done for the second time, this time digitally. It was simply an "overkill" thing, since I know they received my ink prints with my packet... I chose to wait because the site finally said my ink fingerprints were "under review". If they decide that the prints aren't good enough, I should be entitled to a *free* digital version, right? Given that the only reason I'd need to re-do them is a mistake by the same company who did them the first time... I'm hoping they do that for me.

You may not be aware but after March 1st the DPS only accepts FAST prints from L1, so if your prints do get rejected you wont be able to get them redone for free at the place that did the ink prints(unless L1 did the ink?). So I would hold off on getting those digital prints from the place that did your ink prints, as it will be a waste of time and money.

Now if for some reason they "grandfather" in your application/prints, then never mind this post, lol.

I'm pretty sure my ink prints were taken by the FAST (Fingerprint Applicant Services of Texas) program. The lady who did them introduced herself as working for FAST, but I'm not sure how that all fits together. I know that I paid for it once, and I did not have control over how they turned out. If they are rejected, why should I be required to pay again? I really hope they don't get rejected and I just don't have to worry about it :)

Alright, I guess I'll chill. My wife theorizes that mine has been delayed due to me calling. ???

Posting for at least 3 people.

My company put on a CHL Class in February, I know of 3 (that I have talked with this week) of the 26 who took the class and postmarked their apps February 28th (Just in time to avoid FAST fingerprints)
These 3 have all received their plastic on March 28 or 29th.
So 30 days (including weekends), thats fast!

Had an arrest in another state when I was young and completely forgot about it. Yes, apparently they are super up to date.

I would definitely call. I just used the "this is my first time calling and understand that you guys are swamped at the moment but I was wondering if there may be a problem with proccessing my application. If there is something I may help you clear up just let me know." Something very close to it anyway and that is when I discovered the problem and almost instantly from waiting prints and BG to Manufacturing :hurry:
