Thanks for the comments, however I spoke with DPS earlier this week and, at first they could not find any record of my application then a few minutes later she said it looked like they were just entering it into the system. :banghead: Man the wait is killing me now cause I see a few who sent in there apps around the same time frame are getting there licenses already. Congratz to them in any case.

Happy for you. It was a big day for both of us.

We have a huge responsibility as licensees.

Good luck,

Well I carried for the first time today, thought I would share the first experience. Sorry to let you guys down, didn't get to do the wally walk.

I went to an XD match today and carried on the way up there and back. Decided to stop by a store or 2 on the way to get a feel for it. Suprisingly I wasn't even the slightest bit nervous or worried about the gun being seen. I guess all the training, experience with carrying a gun in a holster(not in public), and knowing it was completely legal contributed to that. I have ElGato, Charles, and all of you fine folks to thank for the wealth of information I have picked up, I feel confident I can carry safely and do the right thing should I, God forbid, ever have to. Even more important, how to avoid it at all costs.

I also wasn't nervous about carrying a "locked and loaded" weapon, I had complete faith in the safety of my weapon in a holster.

I also carried to work but had to leave it in the car locked up, the pocket holster I have prints with my pants. I guess I will need to get a tuckable holster for my Keltec P-11 to have more options. Small gun, but not that small in a pocket.

btw, I carried the Keltec P-11 in a DeSantis pocket holster and my XD9 in an OWB Don Hume Open Top. Figured I could carry, so I might as well take advantage of it and carry 2.
