I've had my CHL for a couple years now, and carry a G19. (I like my Glock very much, but am quite aware that it's not "the one and only", just the right one for me, at the moment.) I work in I.T., but CAN NOT carry in the building at work, which really stinks.

I came from a gun-apathetic family. Not what I'd call anti-gun, but just not that aware. I shot some .22 and shotguns (including a 10GA at age 10 ;) ) with friends on occasion growing up, but never was exposed to handguns.

I'm married with one wonderful toddler son. FWIW, my wife just got her CHL, but we're still looking for something for her small hands. She's from a fairly strong anti-gun family, so this is a big deal for her.

This seems like a very civil place. I look forward to hanging out here.

This is a very civil place & we are glad it shows from the beginning.
Congratulations on Mrs. Trope getting her CHL. There are several ladies on the board as regular & good contributers.
The ladies of my household also have their CHL & both carry. Wife cannot at work & the parking lot would cost her job probably. Mom is 76 & is a 24-7 carry where legal.
Her job (still not retired) is posted w/ a legal 30-06 sign.
You wife can get a lot of recomendations from the ladies here if she would like.
Welcome aboard & we are glad to have you.

Welcome!

Trope, you weren't an English major by any chance, were you?

Well, we won't hold that against you. ;-) I'm used to seeing "trope" used in rhetoric and literary criticism. So I was just wondering.

I'm more nonliteral than literary.

Unfortunately, it doesn't always work so well on-line. The subtlety is easier to understand in person.

Mrs. Trope is an english major, though. I'm glad she 'gets' me.

Welcome aboard, waybar60. However you will soon learn that we here at TexasCHLForum.com do not like to be teased like this...you should provide make and model, and pictures are welcome in the appropriate sub-forums!!

Welcome from one .357 man to another...

jbird, there is another one now, too. I bought Diode's 66 & jlaw recomended a holster for it. I have it ordered. When it gets here I will carry the 66 some in the cool weather when I can cover pretty heavy. Jlaw carries his all the time & it covers fine w/ a colored t-shirt.

Hey there! Been lurking and reading for a few days. Enjoying the crowd here, so decided to stay. ;-)

New CHL holder. I finally decided to carry in October after our house was broken into. Broken into again this month! Now have an alarm system on the house that calls my cell first......... ETE to the house from my shop 4 minutes. Hopefully the alarm will never go off though. Well, except for me setting if off like a nimrod....

Anyway... Glad to be here. I'm off to read more.

Welcome aboard Ron C, lots of great people here to chat with. Sounds like you've got a very good reason to get your CHL! Looking forward to talking to you more...
