Slide Issue with my Kahr CW9

I've been carrying this gun for some time now and have shot it plenty. I went through the break-in period with 200 rounds using both magazine. Well, so I take it out last weekend to practice mag changes loading only 1 or 2 rounds into the first magazine so I can practice the mag swap with my second one and noticed that randomly the slide would not remain open after the last round of the first magazine. I was switching magazines and should have noted if one or the other magazines was causing the problem. Any thoughts?

If it it with both mags it is most likely a slide release/catch issue on the gun. If it is with only one mag it is the mag.

If you have stripped down the gun, it is likely that you have not reassembled the spring and slide stop correctly. This happened to me when I first bought a Kahr, but I figured it out before shooting it. There is a small tab on the slide stop/slide lever, which interfaces with a spring.

I'll check the mags again and will also check the spring and slide catch to see if anything is misaligned

Intermittent problems are the hardest to diagnose. When trouble-shooting the slide versus magazine issue you will be able to determine the root cause of the problem only if it occurs consistently with the suspect magazine. Otherwise, you will have to do some more investigation.
