I carried a compact Kahr .40 for many years... I liked it, but didn't love it.Beiruty wrote:me Giga FAN for my lovely HK P30 in 9mm.Carry-a-Kimber wrote:BIG FAN of the 2000sk in 40.RoyGBiv wrote:Finally had a mind to take a few photos...

It was a good combination of small size and big power.
A bit heavy for its size, and very "snappy"... Ok, but not
I shot a friends P2000SK and bought mine the next day....
A bit bigger, but hugely easier to shoot. Truly

New to the forum here.
I just took the class and mailed all the paperwork into DPS about 3-4 weeks ago, so I am still waiting.
Here will probably be my primary carry. Para Slim Hawg. About 300 rounds through her and not a hiccup yet.
Also picked up a S/W Bodyguard .38 +P this weekend at the gun show!! Can't wait to shoot it!!

Beautiful pistol. Love me some 1911's. You should prolly carry your holster around so you can get a feel for what it will be like with piece in there. So whenever you get your plastic, it wont be 'too' much of a transition.
Congrats, man!
What rounds have you shot through them? JHP's? FMJ's?

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
Thanks 68!! So far, all I have been shooting through it are the FMJ - Winchester WB's through her. When the time comes, I imagine I will by a few different boxes of defense ammo to see what the gun likes best.68Charger wrote:Beautiful pistol. Love me some 1911's. I have been carrying around the house for the past week getting used to having iron on my hip. It really fits nice!!
Texas Tac..
I bought the holster from a Rockin bull Leatherwork in Dennison. The guy makes them by hand and has a quick turn around. By the time I dropped the money order in the mail to the time I had my holster was under a week and a half. Not bad for $50. Here is his website, look at the Texas Tucker.

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
She was 60 when I got her and she rattles like a Western Diamondback. But I put about 500-600 rounds through her without a single problem before retiring her. Excellent recoil. Doesn't cry if I don't clean her regularly. Just a smooth-triggered 1911 I fell in love with from the minute I saw her.

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
I think that is actually a 3rd Gen Glock that SAPD traded in. Note the straight lines in the slide for pulling the slide back.
SAPD bought a batch of the first Gen Glocks back in 91. They traded them in back around 2004 or so. I found mine at Dury's (serial number was my old badge number), bought it, and gave it to my son as a wedding present (and just because of that, his wife called me a redneck for some reason). I believe that they recently traded their 3rd Gen's in also and bought the newest version.

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
It is brand new and unissued. San Antonio Police Dept. supposedly made a order for 100 with night sights and upgraded triggers they then changed there mind after they where already shipped. The other side is stamped Gen 4. Local gun shop ended up with a couple of them.Test fire casing dated March 2010

Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
That is interesting Swamprnr. I am happy to be wrong about it. I wonder how much it cost SAPD to cancel the order after paying for the special markings. If you can document the order and cancellation (open records request might do it), I would keep that with the pistol. It might increase its value to a collector some day.
Wildbill,
Yep, I guess I am. But I got even with her when my first granddaughter was born two years ago. I bought all of the baby clothes I could from the John Deere store. I am always looking for western style or farm and ranch style stuff for her. It has become a kind of running jokeas my son tries to make her a "lady".
