Bike trip to Pacific Northwest

#1

Post by AC »

I'm planning a bike trip to Washington state around Memorial Day weekend, from here in Texas. Going through Colorado, Utah, and Idaho should be OK, they have reprocity. Oregon and Washington don't. So what do I do when I get there, put my piece in a lockable case and carry it in my T-Bag unloaded? I will have to take my T-Bag off the bike and carry it around with me when I stop for whatever; eating, motel, shopping, etc. Even if they had a traveling law, I still could not carry off the bike.

Both of them recognize Utah, and you've got time to take llwatson's Utah class and get your license.

"He" is a she, and goes by the username llwatson here on the forum. Send her a private message for details.

She's in D/FW, but recently drove to the Houston area to do the class for a group of forum members.

The Utah CFP will work for WA but unfortunately it is not honored in Oregon. Apparently they do not honor permits from any other state:

http://licenseinfo.oregon.gov/?fuseacti ... LinkType=P

"Generally there is no reciprocity with other states on concealed handgun licenses. If you want to carry a concealed handgun in Oregon, you will need an Oregon Concealed Handgun License."

Utah DPS also lists on it's website that their permits are not recognized by Oregon:

http://bci.utah.gov/CFP/CFPFAQ/FAQOther.html

IMO though, the Utah CFP is probably worth getting and will serve you well in WA.

The last Utah class of this year is this Saturday, Dec 16, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Irving. The location is courtesy of Carlson1. Class starts at 1:00.

Let me know if you would like more details.

Ooops, you're right!

I was looking at the wrong section on PDO.

That's why it always pays to double-check. Sorry for the bad info.
