Maybe they have finally made some strides in streamlining their operation down in Austin. I got my plastic a couple of weeks ago and it took 60 days exactly.

That's good news that some are getting theirs sooner.

In the same boat!!! DPS received mine on Oct. 16th. Checked the website today to see that I am COMPLETED!!! Unfortunatley, I think my mail lady delivers my mail LAST!! There will be milk and cookies in my mail box for her tomorrow.

I could not believe how helpful they were when I called the first time. The lady I spoke to told me where I was in the process and then followed up with me a couple of days later (today) telling me they issued the license 12/7/06

So for all those in the same time frame give them a call and see where you are.

And congratulations to us for making it through the wait.

Just an idea:

If we all contribute just two bucks, TexasCHLforum could send a very nice box(es) of holiday chocolates to the overworked, underpayed, underappreciated workers at the TDPS who process all our applications.

No bribery here. Just a Christmas appreciation.

Done. The DPS Regulatory Licensing Dept. will receive a package Tuesday from Hershey's Gifts http://www.hersheygifts.com/. It's two, silver holiday tins filled with a total of four pounds of individually wrapped Hershey's and Reese's miniatures. The gift message space was limiting. All I could fit was: "Thanks for your work. Please share with the office. From http://www.texasCHLforum.com" But at least that gets the thought across.

Wasn't very expensive. If we ever get together for a post-IDPA lunch or something, you guys can pick up the check. ;-)

Thanks for sending the gift. That was very nice of you to do. I'm sure they will be pleased. I wonder if anyone will sign on to say thanks? Would be cool to have a personal contact with the department.

Hold on to your pin, if you move you can use it to change your address on line. It worked very well with a credit card. :txflag: :fire
