I just recently today heard that there was a problem with a mail sorting center/post office that effected a lot of the licenses issued on either 01/31/2011 or 02/01/2011, I think near the Dallas area. I Mr. Cotton may have heard about this or will know something also. I heard there may have been a fire or something to that effect. DPS may or may not know about this or may have just found out about it.

I just heard about it also. A friend who works for the state just told me about it. Now if we can get the DPS to say something.

I've read a couple times now that one must wait 30 days before they can re-issue a license that never arrived. I spoke with DPS today and I was told that after 30 days the applicant will have to pay for a duplicate…$25? The lady told me that if the license doesn't arrive in 14 days, to make sure you call back before the 30th day. I made certain I repeated what was said and she confirmed it.

Where is everyone else getting their information? What's the real story here?

Just out of curiosity, how long has it been since you mailed your application until today?

It has been 39 days since I mailed the packet. I wouldn't be all that concerned if the license wasn't marked as mailed 17 days ago. Since most people get theirs within a few days, I am sure something is wrong. I just want to take care of the problem, or have someone give me an acceptable course of action.

I hear you...I have a friend who sent hers in at the beginning of January and still has not got anything. A couple of other people I know are getting theirs back around 30 days. Just comparing.

Good luck.

Mines was shown as granted on 01-31. Mailed 02-01. The seventeen day like us seem to have our plastic lost in Space.
Problem is they just have no plan to deal with person who's license is lost after mailed.

Well, I never did receive a response to my e-mail. I am not really all that surprised. My girlfriend also sent an e-mail (different issue) that was never responded to. However, she did finally call in and said they were courteous on the phone. Her issues has been resolved.

I am just going to wait for the 30 days to be up and then give them a call. From what I have been reading on the forum, there really isn’t anything that can be done until then.

LOL I gave up so what I did was just logged onto the system and did a lost license and paid 25.00 to get a replacement that way I wont have to wait the 30 days For then to decide to print me a free license. Being a teacher I did not want to spend spring break waiting for it. My big plan is to hit a lot of spots during the break fishing. During the week its a tad lonely out there and you never know who is around..

I finally called the DPS to issue a new license since the 30 day waiting period is up. The guy on the phone didn’t hesitate to issue me a new one, but said it may be another 2-3 week until I receive it. This is getting pretty frustrating. Wait 30 days only to wait about another 30 days--then another 30 days. :banghead: I can only hope it makes it to my box this time.

Wow...I'd be frustrated too. Keeping fingers crossed that things will be okay this time around.

I know for a fact that our stuff was burned in the fire. The problem was they had no policy to deal what to do when something like that happens.
Other agencies gave their employees a list of what area codes were effected and what to do.
