Wally Walk....er.....BabiesRUs walk completed....
Finally got my plastic on Friday and ventured out into the world. First stop, a hospital that was posted(invalid I think, small letters) to visit my dad recovering from heart bypass surgery, so I had to disarm in the truck. Next were off to BabiesRUs to pick up a new carseat for the little one. Pretty uneventful, I kept worrying that my shirt was too short. When we got to the checkout, I was paying and dropped my wallet on accident(really). I was like oh great here we go...but no one said anything and the cops never showed up....we actually went out to the truck and then back in to look at something else. Was a good trip out and feels very comfortable on my hip.
I carry a G27 IWB at about 8:30(lefty)

Sounds like a good Wally... er Babies walk
it gets easier. In a couple weeks you will stop tugging at your shirt (all the time).. and only do it once in a while.
2 weeks ago, i went to hooters with my wife for dinner, this was during those VERY cold days, so when putting my jacket on, you know how you bring your arm up before you put it in the sleeve.... well, it pulled my Tshirt up and it set on-top of my Springfield XD9 (IWB) and my grip was exposed for about 1-2 seconds (probably less, but enough that I knew it...)
I didnt freak, as others have said, if you dont act like a bad guy, its normally good... and no one screamed, no AD, no cops :)

Congrats on the plastic. Constantly checking, pulling, tugging will go away after about a month.

You will be surprised at how soon you become at ease with carrying and realize no one knows.

Congratulations! It gets easier, shirts seem longer and not so prone to creeping up, weapon seems smaller and the floor seems closer when you drop stuff as time goes on - at least from a concealment perspective, the floor is still really far off some days with creaky joints.

HA HA! I love it! Baby Walk! Who would guess?
On a more serious note, my best regards to your father. He should start feeling much better soon.

Congratulations on getting your plastic!
When I first started carrying I worried about someone seeing a bulge all the time. Tugging at the shirt was another common theme when out and about. Fast forward two months later and I hardly tug at the shirt anymore. It's one quick adjustment upon exiting the vehicle and thats it. The concern over a buldge is gone completely.
Good Luck!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you telling us that you carried a gun at Babies-R-Us and no babies were killed? How can that possibly be?

Cool! A quick and easy thing to do to check the size of the letters on a 30.06 sign is to compare them to a quarter - - - a US quarter dollar is exactly 1" in diameter.

Its going to be like putting on a watch, or grabbing your billfold. Routine, soon. Aware, but routine.
Congrats.
