Im begining to think "mailed" means nothing at all, just something to fill in the blank.
There is no way it takes 8 to 10+ days for the "mailed" mail to be delivered 200 miles away.
I wonder if telling the truth means anything to them at all. :banghead:

Hang in there! I am sure it is just a combination of slow to mail and mail moving a bit slow due to the bad weather. :txflag:

I sent my packet on 1/3 and I think it took 8 days for it to register in the system. Don't know if they got really busy all of a sudden with everything that happened in Arizona, but 3 weeks is way longer than it was taking a couple of weeks ago.

Mailed packet (completely paper app.) 1/5/11
They received on 1/10/11
Showed up on web 1/17/11
Updated to pending manufacture (finally) on 2/11/11

and with some basic trend tracking I'm anticipating 10-15 days to manufacture and mail and another 10-15 days to be delivered. :totap:

And then Wally Walk here I coming :patriot:

It takes about 60 days for Utah and almost 90 days for Oklahoma to get CCW after one mails in his application.

I am now (Feb. 12, 2011) up to status: Mailed. I know that probably means: (speculation) in the mail room to be inserted into envelope then mailed in next batch of pre-sorted envelopes when enough to a common postal zone have been generated so as to get a discounted postage rate (/speculation), but it is progress!
Happy weekend all,

Background Check : Completed Feb. 9

So the DPS is still perking along quite fast in processing new licenses and I can look forward to seeing a picture of my ugly mug in the mail pretty soon.
GAM wrote:Howdy All,
I just found this nice forum and signed up. It looks like there is a treasure trove's worth of information to read here. What follows is the time line for my CHL application submission so far:
Online application submitted to DPS (My instructor had us do this ahead of time): Jan. 17
Class completed: Jan. 22
All forms to DPS in Austin (It was part of the class fee for the instructor to drop them off): Jan. 24
As of Jan. 31, the only non-green item is Background check: Under review

It is all is going quite swiftly for a government licensing operation.

Cheers from Dripping Springs,

I sent my packet in on 01/24, they received it 01/26 and just today, 02/12, it shows the following:

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Under review
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

So that was 19 days (15 business days) before it showed up online. I'd say that it pretty close to 3 weeks! I bet a buddy that I would get plastic before the end of the month, so I'm now hopeful!
