2 weeks after I started checking my status online I received a letter letting me know I could now check my status online lol

did you fill out the application online? i never received a letter either.

I did fingerprints at FAST, and it still took 2 weeks for them to show as complete on the DPS website. But then, everything else happened in a few days. In retrospect, the best approach is probably just give up trying figure it out...

Very true...trying to figure it out is pretty fruitless. But it still bugs me. It's a renewal, so I didn't have to submit them...why they just don't send 'em out when they get the application & money, I just don't know...or they might...it could just take a while to get 'em back. Oh well...should be soon!
