Just to be sure that I didn't become a participant in a second "Ox Bow Incident," at the minimum I would want the following:

City State Zip
Name of Seller:
Address:
City State Zip
Rifle
Pistol
Revolver
Shotgun
Make:
Model:
Serial No.:
Caliber/Gage:
Selling Price: $
Signature of Purchaser: Date:
Signature of Seller: Date:
No Guns, No Peace
Know Guns, Know Peace
Know Guns, Know Peace

How could it possibly do that?kauboy wrote:I'd have to agree. A bill of Sale given to the buyer as well as the seller should be written up and signed. This would keep cheats and swindlers from claiming their guns was stolen.

You just love using baited questions, don't you TXI?
Here's my reasoning:
A signed Bill of Sale is a contract between two parties in which one is giving ownership to another in exchange for money. It would stand to prove that the new owner of the firearm did not steal anything but entered into a legally binding sale of said item.
Chuck, would you recommend a bill of sale on purchases such as this?

I can see how a bill of sale would protect the purchaser from being accused of stealing the firearm from the seller.kauboy wrote:You just love using baited questions, don't you TXI?
