The new Kel Tec KSG: It makes me happy.

Basically it's only 26" long and holds 14 shells. Oh and by the way the shells are in two seperate 7 round tubes that you can select back and forth to. So you can have one tube with buckshot and one with slugs and just switch back and forth as needed. Did I mention it's only 26" overall length??????? Comes with flip up sights and rails top and bottom.

A buddy of mine just got done convincing me that I needed a shotgun for home defense. I think I have a pretty good idea which shotgun I'm going to go with

That had better be on a tripod, since it would weigh about 15 pounds unloaded.Beiruty wrote:How about 2 barrel shotgun semi-auto with doible feed magazines?

Oh I don't care about the duplicate post. Just making sure you know you're going to have to wait for me to get one before you can get one....

Odds are it'll have a yr or two delay in release and cost way to much.

They are supposed to MSRP at $800 so I would expect pricing around $650. Also they are saying they will be out at Shot Show and releasing them soon thereafter.cajunautoxer wrote:Odds are it'll have a yr or two delay in release and cost way to much.

Considering how production on the RFP has been, I expect the KSG to be $200-$300 over msrp. Considering it will also be the only shotgun of its type in production in the US, that is going to make it a hot item for a few years.

I just looked at the Kel-tec website and the RFB shows to MSRP at $1800+. That seems a little much in my eyes for the package and construction.

RFB started selling in the $1200 range, which is the intended pricepoint. However, the lack of supply has driven them to stay near or above MSRP.
Looks slick to me. Real powerful cartridge in a bullpup (since most are 5.56). Uses readily available FAL magazines. While I wish the RFB was under a grand, I think its a home run anyways.
I'm working at going back to work. If that happens, more gun money for daddy, and I'll be finding me an RFB and a KSG.

Re: The new Kel Tec KSG: It makes me happy.
I own a P3AT, and based on that ownership experience, I have not been that enamored of Kel-Tec until now. But that RFB is calling my name loud and clear. I would imagine that after the supply/demand thing settles down a bit, the price will come down somewhat. My M1A Loaded was $1729.00, so if the RFB is well-made and reliable, then something between $1100-$1800 would probably make it attractive enough for me to buy one. After all, an FN SCAR 17 in .308 is almost twice the RFB at $3300.00. And most AR platform .308s are going to come in at close to the same price range as the RFB without the advantages of a bullpup configuration. At least the FN SCAR can be folded for stowing.jamisjockey wrote:RECIT wrote:I just looked at the Kel-tec website and the RFB shows to MSRP at $1800+.
