DFW Area - CHL Forum Meet & Greet Shoot & Eat Saturday 1/15

#1

Post by HotLeadSolutions »

I thought we might plan a get together for January and see if we could put faces to some names. I am new to the area and could use a couple of people to hang out with from time to time. If you would like to attend...post up, and depending on everyones ideas we can plan something...somewhere.

I think January 15th should give us enough time to check schedules, and make some plans. Throw some ideas out there and lets see what sounds good.

Edited to add:
The meet and Greet is scheduled for Saturday 1/15 - DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird. 12:00 Noon

The afternoon of the 15th is clear for me.

For what it's worth, there is a gun show at Market Hall that Saturday. And it's the last weekend in some counties for spike and doe only. ;-)

I haven't seen Hoi Poloi on the board in a while....
She had set January 29th down as another range day at Elm Fork Gun Range in west Dallas.
If folks agree to meet, I'll be there.

I'm willing to meet some new folks, and my calendar is clear. It seems to make sense to meet at a range like Elm Fork (just a suggestion). That way we can show off our Christmas gifts  However, if a range is not an option, I have a non range venue as a suggestion.

The Hard Eight BBQ restaraunt is located on the Northern edge of the DFW airport, and its easy to find. Its centrally located for those folks who maybe coming anywhere from Ft. Worth to Garland, and from Denton to Waxahachie. Its a large facility, CHL friendly, smells like a hickory smoker, has a bar, good food, and if our group is large, there is a separate meeting room where they have Christmas parties, etc. :thumbs2:

Its just a thought for now.

We have a CHL class on Jan 15, so we can't make it.

Sounds like fun if I don't have to stand out in the cold to shoot or visit :biggrinjester: Flexible at the moment on dates, etc.

Beiruty, I'd love to get together this week, but the son-in-law and I are going to Childress for some quail hunting.

I could probably make either January 15 or 29. That is until I check with my wife and she tells me I'm busy those days!

FWIW, Bass Pro Shops has an indoor range and the restaurant next door to eat/talk.

I think Bass Pro Shop is a wonderful suggesstion. I will be willing to call and reserve the shooting bays for us, and call the resturant next door and reserve some space if that works for everyone.

Put me on the list to attend.

If we get a lot of folks interested, we may need a larger range like either DFW Gun on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, or the Bullet Trap in Plano.

I'll make it if its noon or later. I've got a training ride in the AM if its not raining. I'd like to get in a good practice session with a 9mm and .357.

Either afternoon is good for me. Elm Fork has a pretty big meeting (bull) room. BBQ sounds good as well...

The 29th works for me, but if Crossfire is willing, I'll be sitting in on my son's CHL class on the 15th.
