Just so my opinion is out there. I went to the arms room on we'd and was very impressed. Very clean, cool, and everyone left me alone. The Rso made sure I knew how to work the controls and backed off. Very nice place to shoot.

I also made my first visit to the shooting side of the store, very impressive, and yes, the rso was very nice, hardly saw him, but he was available to answer questions.

Been there once. I liked it. I'll definitely go back. It's a little more expensive than the pasadena indoor range, and lacks a lot of the charm, but it's a lot closer to me.

I was there today but only looked at .45s but as you live in Toxic City you should definately pay Roy a visit at T's Guns and Ammo. I am pretty sure he will beat the best price that The Arms Room have. I certainly recommend either one, but Roy usually has the best price IMHO.

Thanks Kevinf. I have been to T's before and when I was looking for my G19, to my surprise he was the cheapest @ $499.99 new. The only reason I didn't buy it was because I went to a gun show in Pasadena and found it (only one vendor had it at this price) for $449.99 new. But you're definitely right, I need to check T's again real soon.

Their guns do seem a tad on the pricey side. But I guess that fancy new building doesn't pay for itself. Indoor range is nice too.

Support your local businesses! Most people who choose to buy a gun online wind up spending more when you figure in shipping, FFL fees, time spent looking and whatever else they do in their search to save a few bucks.

I have a friend who recently went to FIVE different gun stores and the local gun show comparing prices on the SAME gun. He says he eventually found it $30 cheaper than his closet store. So, he thinks he saved $30. I'm willing to bet he's wrong! When you figure in the time he spent looking, the gas and mileage to all those different places, gun show entrances fees, gun show parking fees and whatever else….I'm guessing he probably spent $30 to $50 more than he would have if he would have just bought it from his local shop.

I'll pile on. Friendly staff, great range. RSO was there, and keeping an eye on things, but no stupid RSO tricks. He helped a few people that needed it. Friendly and joked with my buddy and I a few times.
Gun prices are a little high, but screw it. I bought a KelTec PF9 and a little ammo which is my FIL's christmas gift.

I'll agree with what everyone has said. Excellent range, guns a little pricey, but some some of the accessories are pretty reasonable. And the range, IMHO, is the nicest indoor range around and tends to be as good or better in pricing compared to most other indoor ranges (especially up in the city).

Plus they have informal IDPA matches every Monday night. Cost is $15 plus your ammo-60 to 80 rounds.

Not to jack the thread, but the wife wanted a SIG P238. Ended up buying at a gun show for SIGNIFICANLTY less than what the Arms Room quoted us. I'd love to support local businesses, and understand they have certain things that you get for doing that (face to face business, advice, etc.) but the price difference was too much to ignore. I could have easily have added transfer fees and shipping and still been ahead by a fair amount. And I was going to the show anyway.

That said, the Arms Room is first rate. They're a little pricey on ammo, VERY pricey on guns (at least in my ONE case, may not be so with all of them). But overall very good folks to deal with.

Okay one beef. I bought my FIL a Kel Tec PF9 for Christmas. Bought a box of JHP's and a box of FMJ's to go with it. Upon further inspection, the FMJ ammo was .380. Yeah, I should have checked myself before paying, but I'm surprised the employee made the mistake of selling me the wrong ammo for the gun I was buying. Good thing I'm not a total neophyte who would have tried to feed the .380 into the 9mm......

I've accidentally picked up the wrong ammo at Academy because I was in a rush and didn't pay close attention…my mistake. Of course I couldn't take it back to Academy, but I'm fairly certain things would be different at The Arms Room. If you go back and explain what happened, I bet they'll take care of you. They are a family run business and do everything they can to take care of their customers.
