It may not actually. While they do not come out and say it, until they receive all of the required documentations (CHL100 form, and any other documents necessary to complete the full packet of information), they most likely do not start the application screening.

- really does not matter, you can take the class in the morning, and do the online application after you pass the course.
Personally, I would not pay the DPS until I knew I passed my class and learned what is taught. I would hate to find out either I failed the class, or that something I learned in the class tells me that I will not be able to get my license, and therefore I also lose my non-refundable $140 state fee

I took my class at Patriot. I thought the instruction was done well. Questions were encouraged and answers were well thought out. The material seems to have been up to date. There were only three of us for the classroom instruction, and it worked well for me.

The store and range are a bit cluttered and worn. The classroom was OK.
Qualifying indoors, on-site, on the same day was a bonus. Safety was paramount.
They did photos and rolled prints, not sure what they do for prints now.
Rental guns and ammo were included in the price, if you wanted. (I chose to burn up their ammo in their Glock 19. ;-) )
A nice lunch was provided, with an instructional video playing during the break.
It was Saturday, and we were able to briefly check out the IDPA match.

I can't comment on any other instructors in the area.
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

Personally I like Talon CHL, but I might be a little biased ;-)

There's a couple of others I'd also recommend. Shoot me a PM if interested.

I'm not a one stop shop due to three things. 1) Online electronically notorizes, 2) Digital fingerprints are the way to go, and 3) I don't take good pictures.

L-1 and Walgreens or CVS is the way to go in my opinion.

Everyone in town has to drive to a range except for Patriot (in house).

Look me up. I'll be happy to help in any way I can, whether you take my class or not.
