Anyone actually carry a M & P?

I really like them, but everything I see in forums like this one says they are too big (thick).

I carry an M&P in a comp-tac gurhka holster, and it works just fine.

I carry the M&P daily in a Comp-Tac C-Tac with no problems. The way the slide is contoured makes it feel much slimmer than the Glock. It carrys much better than one would think.

Not officially a CHL as of yet, but I carry at home for practice the M&P .40 with a Com-Tac IWA. Printing is not a issue unless you wear thin T-Shirts or close fiting clothing. I wear a jeans in a size larger than normal and a size larger in shirts with medium to heavy material. I also use compression Under Armor shirts in black to help reduce the rubbing of the holster and pistol on my side. I always tuck in when practicing as this is the harder way to go and I feel I need the practice. So fare my family and friends have not noticed yet for 2 months now. So, I think your okay and should not have an issue. BTW- Great pistol!

Finally found a picture of it, looks like a nice little gun. I'd like to see how it feels/performs, I've not yet shot an M&P, but I definitely like the looks of the compact.

since i opened the topic, I guess i can change the direction a bit. Anyone carry a Sig P229 - i really like them but wonder if they are worth the premium price. Looked on the web for a CPO, but couldn't find one.

If you haven't done it already, I'd give Ordnance Outsellers a call to see if they can get ahold of a CPO P229 for you.

The Desantis "Tuck-This", model 91 works perfectly with the full size M&P. They are at http://www.desantisholster.com.

I am able to fully conceal an M&P 40 in the front waistband, with my shirt tucked in without printing. I am also able to fully conceal behind a pair of coveralls, without printing.

With this rig, I am able to do yard work or moderate exercise without the rig falling down or going out of alignment in any way.

As with any rig, you want to practice safe gun handling!!

The P229's are definately worth the price. I had one that I was planning on transitioning to from a P239. It is a two tone w/night sights. The main reason I was planning on switching is that it holds 12+1 .357sig.

However, my wife liked it so much she took it from me and is now her carry gun! So I still carry the p239.

The P229 is no doubt a top quality gun. It is however a bit bulky and heavy. Many folks carry it regularly though. It is also availabe with a DAK trigger, and an anti-snag version for cc.

It's a very good choice.

I just recently returned from a trip to Fort Worth. While I was there, I wore my S&W M&P40 for three days. It was the first time that I have wore it concealed. I wore it in a cheap Uncle Mike's Sidekick size 15 IWB holster in the 3:30 position on my right side. I surprised how easy it was to conceal under my shirt with the tail out. I was also surprised how comfortable the Uncle Mikes holster was, if I canted it slightly forward with the bottom of the magazine pressed into my side. I did find that the M&P40 was almost impossible to reholster in the cheap Uncle Mikes IWB holster without opening my trousers again. The M&P40 didn't feel too heavy or thick and concealed very well. I need to find a more rigid holster, though.
