I have a buddy who used to have bad road rage. The last time I rode with him he was completely calm when someone cut him off; behavior which baffled me, so I asked him if he went to anger management classes or something.

He said nope. One time he got mad at a guy who cut him off, and when the guy stopped at a red light, my friend got out of his car, walked up to the other car, and banged on the window. The guy in the other car rolled down the window and pointed a .45 at my friend, and said "You have a problem?"

My friend said "No, sir, I just wanted to tell you to have a nice day" and walked back to his car. He's been cured of road rage ever since.

He told me "Having a .45 stuck in your face will cure a man of all sorts of unwanted social behavior."

Sounds like your buddy is a wise man.

I moved from Seattle to Houston about 3 years ago and one thing that really struck me is the fact that people rarely if ever use their horns here (at least compared to where I was at). I have to think that a part of this is the idea that there is at least a decent chance the other guy is armed. Don't get me wrong, the drivers in Houston are atrocious and have no respect for one another (people get aggressively cut off all the time, etc). Just that they don't generally lay on the horn much.
