Re: Daily 45 ACP Carry queston?
Full size Springer A1 that has a gojillion rounds throught it and has been modified to suit my likings.
I carried a compact version back in the day, but I like the full size as it is more forgiving of fundamental errors made during firing.

Most days a Rock Island Armory 1911 Compact. Occasionally an RIA Fullsize Tactical. Crossbreed supertuck. Same holster for both guns. Both are good solid shooters

Generally, Mil/Pro pt145, but the RIA Govt. sees it's share.

Lucky Dog, you. That gun is so beautiful, I would hate to shoot it.MojoTexas wrote:Kimber Eclipse Pro II, carried in a horse-hide SuperTuck Deluxe and Wilson Combat 8-round magazines.
I just got back from the range and shot 350 rounds through the S&W. My hand hurts and I needed to change out my hard target 3 times. My gun is dirty as hell and only had one fail to extract. I only think it was because I limp wrist a bit. Hey, after that many rounds you get tired :D
Cheers.

Oh it's beautiful and it shoots beautifully too. I replaced the stocks with a Hogue wrap-around grips. I think they look better with the stainless and black pistol than the originals did, and they're a heck of a lot more comfortable to shoot with. I'm still wanting one of the Kimbers from their Custom shop, though.68Charger wrote:Lucky Dog, you. Re: Daily 45 ACP Carry queston?
I'm 5' 9-ish, and I sometimes carry a full size 1911 (Kimber TLE II).
It's not much of a problem, actually. A smaller 1911 would be a little easier on the "sit-down" but I've carried the 5" everywhere without being tagged, or more uncomfortable than one is supposed to be when carrying.
My other carry is a Glock 26. I carry it when I can't find where I left the holster for the 1911.
