Weekday CHL classes in DFW

#1

Post by Grog »

I'm gainfully employed again, but my schedule has me working 5pm Friday until 6:30am Saturday and back again for a 6:30pm-6:30am shift Saturday night. I am off on Sundays, but after working 12hrs, I might get a little fuzzy by midday

Needless to say, that leave me in quite a pickle. Does anyone know of a weekday class (any time Monday - Wednesday) in the DFW area that you can recommend? I can do an all day or broken up into a few nights.

I'm looking to get a Texas and Utah permit, so whichever I can take is what I'm looking for. If someone has a combined class, even better.

Check DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird in Dallas. I believe they do some weekday classes.

You might also consider Texas Handgun Academy

They have classes Wednesday thru Saturday and are located just north of I635 on Plano Road. The class schedule is posted on their website.

Check out Larry Bartek in Plano, http://www.handguninstructor.com/. He does weekday classes except for the shooting part, but I'm sure he could accomodate your schedule. He is also an excellent and highly qualified instructor.

I'll do some checking, thanks. I hope to be able to take a TX/UT class if offered (might as well get it all over with).

I cold not get Texas Handgun Academy's webpage to load this morning, but I did get great service there on another class and have no issues with going back.

As for DFW gun range, I was on the receiving end of some ******* service so I'd rather drive to Austin than to deal with them for anything.

Grog - we will probably have a weekday class again about mid October, at Cabela's in Ft Worth. Would that help you?

I believe that Greybeard at dentoncountysports.com also has some weekday classes, he could be worth a quick e-mail to see what he may have scheduled

I did mine at Texas Handgun Academy. Did it on a Friday. Had one guy with me who was renewing. Then the rest all by myself.

If I've not taken it elsewhere by then, I'll certainly keep ya'll in mind. If I think I have a good chance of getting the permit back by Oct 16th, I would like to have it for a drive back to NC hence me wanting to take it ASAP.

When I had no job, I had plenty of weekend time to take a class. Now that I can afford a class, well, you know. I guess it's what happens when you take a job that has work hours different from the rest of the civilized world
