Taurus pt111 pro ?
I just took the class now waiting on my plastic. I bought a Taurus millennium 9mm this weekend and I can't find a holster that i like. I have a fobus for .40 that I really like but i'm not shure it will work well for a cc. So those of you that have a p111 what holster do you use and why do you like it.

A pt111 pro was my first carry weapon.
I bought a Crossbreed Minituck (which they no longer make for the PT111), but you can get the Supertuck.
I highly recommend it

My Taurus is a lemon so I won't carry it until I get it fixed but I will be using the Minotaur 2 O'clock.

IIRC, you didn't state if you needed a pocket, IWB, or OWB rig.
When I pocket carry my PT111, I use an Uncle Mike's pocket holster, size 4.
The holster has friction within the pants pocket so that when you draw, only
the PT111 is removed, not the holster.
For my OWB holster, I use a Bianchi Carry-Lok (sp?), Model 82. They come in
black or brown, and have an ingenious retention device that holds onto the
trigger guard. You can reholster with one hand and the device clicks into place
easily. The same style that fits a PT111 will also carry a Glock 26 (Baby Glock).
What I like about the Model 82's retention device is that it can be over-ridden
very quietly for the draw of the pistol. It holds the pistol very solidly in place,
and you can lean all kinds of ways without losing your pistol.
Other holsters with retention features will telegraph your draw to an adversary
since Velcro makes a ripping noise, and snaps are also noisy.
Good luck, whatever you choose.

It may not be a full size weapon, but heavy enough that if I didn't have my cinched up super-tight, my shorts would fall down and would need an oversized pocket to put it in to start with .
I couldn't imagine carrying it in dockers or jeans!

I could manage to get a PT145 into the pocket of cargo style shorts..Getting it back out was problematic.Teamless wrote:nor with my PT11174novaman wrote:can't imagine being able to pocket carry it

Super tuck... That is what I carry a PT140 in, and other than the fact that I have gotten too fat for the size pants I wear, I think it's the best.

I use a fobus OWB paddle holster for my PT111 and my PT145. Work very well for me and they run about 25.00-30.00 at the major outdoor stores.

I have also have a PT111 I use a Shielded Holster when I carry it. They are made by Kurtis Baker and the turn around time is rather quick. I do not believe Kurtis has a website but he activity sells through this tread on Glock Talk: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1194122" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can also email him directly at: shieldedholsters@hotmail.com
This is the model I have (I do not have a picture of mine available):

Re: Taurus pt111 pro ?
Regarding pocket carry of my PT111:
Mine is a Generation One, meaning 10 + 1 instead of the current PT111's 12 + 1.
Maybe that makes mine a little shorter?
When I pocket carry in the right front pocket, it's in black chino work uniform pants.
I used to use the shorter mags, but the sharp edges wore a hole in my pockets.
I prefer the original mag with the longer butt plate (more to grip when firing), but I thought it would
be too long for pocket carry. But it has worked out fine. The smoother edge of the longer butt plate
doesn't wear a hole in my pants pocket and I can still draw without issues.

That's a pretty sharp Ruger SR9 with the copper slide.
