I submitted my on-line Texas CHL Apllication on 07/01/2010 and as of last Friday, I'm in the "Manufacturing Pending" hold now. I can wait two more weeks to get my license. I know it is like Christmas Eve and your ready for it to be Christmas Morning so you can get that present you always wanted. After that, I will start going after a sound suppressor. Like they say "Good things come to those who wait."

How long usually from the time the USPS says DPS received the paperwork before they acknowledge it on the website?

Welcome to the forum. Waiting can be tough. The good news is that DPS has improved the process and your wait time should go by smoothly. Also, you get the benefit of being able to follow your status via the DPS website. It wasn't too long ago that the only status updates were "Processing", "Missing information", or "Apllication complete".

Good luck.

Hi all. New to the forum here. I took my CHL Class 8/28, Mailed my application and all pertinent documents on 8/31. Yesterday 9/29 the status online was "Mailed". So it seems like the process is faster than some of the older timelines I have been seeing on some of the older posts on here. Hopefully I will have the plastic by tomorrow... just waiting on my holster to come in.

Its definitely faster. My timeline was very good considering when I did it. Others were experiencing 90 to 100 days. Mine was right at 60 and it seemed like a lifetime. Fortunately, there were guys like USA1 and Joe817 to help me kill the time.
