Spoke to the landlord and the banker today. Sounds like trouble was with the landlord, but the bank has first lien on merchandise and guns from inventory loan. As posted above, bank must sell firearms to another FFL. They also have to sell the police and sheriff uniforms to a registerd/lisenced (?) uniform dealer (?)

There is an FFL coming to make offer on all firearms and merchandise next week. Banker hopes other FFLs will come forward to bid on firearms. I was interested in the non-firearm and non-uniform merchandise, but the deal sounds a little messy. If any FFL wants the banker's number, pm me.
I support the right to arm bears.

When I was in there a couple of weeks back they were showing off a .50 cal BMG that they had just gotten..... They were asking ~$4,500... Not sure where you could shoot that thing around here, but it was an impressive piece!

It's sad that another independent business "bites the dust." Since the 1960s, it's been increasingly difficult for a "gun shop" or any small business to flourish or even survive.

Yes, they were nice people, and it was a good place for us to find holsters and belts. We enjoyed stopping in there, although the prices were often a bit higher than we wanted.

ETA: I wonder if they found the going too rough after the 50 years of construction of the Webster bypass. Most of the places in that center have changed hands in the past couple years, judging by the signs.

That is a good point. My buddy was the general manager of the Roomstore in that shopping store for the last several (7 or 8) years. I remember him talking about how much their business dropped when they started working on that intersection.

Last few times I went in there I was ignored. It is no wonder that they are out of business. Since I have to go to Austin frequently, I just go to GT and I am never ignored there.

I hate to see anyone lose the job they support their family with. That said, the customer service was horrid, the police related stock was almost non-existent, and their prices were humorous. I would drive past the place and go to the CopStop in Pearland if I didn't want to purchase it over the internet and wait a few days.

I went in there a few weeks ago and was in there for probably an hour. In that time, I had 3 or 4 different people, on 6 or 7 different occasions, come up and ask me if I needed any help. That was only my second time in the store, the first being about 6 years ago. I dont remember what the service was like that time, but my last experience was quite pleasant.

Just found out today that Prodefense is locked out. I have a considerable deposit on 2 Kahr firearms ordered months ago. Any suggestions on how to recover my deposit?

I doubt if you will get anything now, they sold all the inventory to someone for 1/5 of the estimated total value. Maybe someone here can chime in on how to go after the owner for your deposit. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.

Cop Stop is on 518 between 35 and 288. Seems like it's somewhere near Strickland Chev and on the same side of the road in a strip center. As for Prodefense, I never bought a gun there but I bought a lot of other stuff, ammo, holsters, belt, magazines. They always treated me great.

Years ago I bought my first gun there, a Glock 23. That was when they were next to the old Academy location. When they moved I bought a HK USP/C .40. Since then their customer service was horrible to say the least. They did however do gunsmithing on my AR15 for a very good price. They did ignore civilians and I did hear employees griping out loud about dealing with particular PITA cops that were regulars.

Maybe the Arms Room did them in, but that's competition for you. I was ignored by them too while they were at their old location, but their new place has plenty of people to help you out.
