Re: Sept. 2010 applications
I'm taking the course tomorrow and I can guarantee that the application will be in the mail on Monday when the Post Office opens its doors.
I'm actually about to head out to the range to get a bit of practice in, since I haven't been shooting in a couple months!
Our few gun-minded friends asked what I was going to do to celebrate my 21st birthday. "Buy a gun, and get my CHL." They laughed at me.

I don't get why Labor Day is a "holiday". I still have to work, I don't get holiday pay, and I still have to go to class, too!
That's why I never remember Mother's Day, Father's Day, St. Patty's day, etc...it's not a holiday if you don't get the time off to celebrate.

Dropped my app in the mail on 8/31. For some reason it will not let me log onto the DPS website.

Re: Sept. 2010 applications
I sent my paperwork in the middle of July and it still says Background Check under reveiw. This was a renewal and I thought they were supposed to be fairly quick. It has been almost 60 days now and I want me new license, especially since my old one has expired.

Re: Sept. 2010 applications
Sent mine off today. Had to brave heavy rain, but I want that plastic ASAP! :)
Re: Sept. 2010 applications
I mailed my paperwork off via certified mail on 09-07, confirmed DPS acceptance on 09-09. As of 500p today (9/13) the site still shows the application outstanding. I know it will take some time to process. considering they lost my first application ( sent August of last year) it took them 9 months to admit they lost it, I applied for an indemnity bond with my bank to get my money back on the money order and then had to wait for my friend who is a firearms instructor to hold another class. this time, i made copies, and sent it certified... im keeping my fingers crossed.
