I have a scar on a finger that messed up the ink prints.

Did my usual morning check of the DPS site, and I come to find that my background check is complete! Manufacturing Pending!

So here's my timeline:
8/7/2010: CHL Class
8/10/2010: Mailed to DPS
8/19/2010: Online information Available
8/26/2010: Fingerprints Approved
8/31/2010: Background Check Complete

I think me and a couple other August applications have fallen onto the same desk, because my timeline is very similar to several people who have been posting their progress lately.

Any idea on typical time from "Manufacturing Pending" to mailed?

MY BACKGROUND IS FINISHED TOO!!!!!! haha yeah now i wonder how long it will take to recieve whoooo so excited

Status went to mailed today! I hope all others in the August waiting room have a similar turn-around. I'm pleased, and a bit surprised.

I think all of us with these faster than normal turn arounds have been surprised. I was fully expecting 60+ days because of all the horror stories I had read on here. The DPS seems to have a lot of time on their hands these days.

I'd love to have mine turn around this fast, but my past has a blip in it that's about 26 years old. I'm sure it's going to take a while to track the details of that down. Maybe all you quick turn-around folks were passed quickly in order to fee up resources to work on mine.

I'd say the "final stretch" is after your background check clears. Hopefully yours will go the way of mine and a few others recently and be finished in a matter of 2 or 3 weeks instead of months as others have experienced..

Well I was thoroughly surprised to log onto the DPS CHL system and see that my status had switched to "Mailed"!!

I guess I'll be a sub 30 day turn around too..

One question though, the "Application: Received" block is still yellow with the caution sign beside it. I'm surprised this didn't ever change colors to green through the process. Is this normal?

I was surprised to see the "Mailed" status so soon after the background check cleared. Maybe I got lucky and they were sending a group over to the printers right before mine was complete. I really wish the DPS would clear up how these are handled.. though it's their perogative to not I suppose.

Oh, and on a bit of a side note, I applied for a change of address on my driver's license just a few days before the DPS received my CHL paperwork. I still have not received the new DL... wonder if my CHL will beat it? That would be truly remarkable/sad..

i did the same thing didnt want it to mess with my background check so i changed it

I'm figuring when they say it's mailed, they mean it went to the mail room.........how long before it goes to the post office is another matter. No way it takes more than two days from Austin to the DFW area in my case.
