So if your shirt accidently uncovers your carry weapon can there be trouble? Can they call police? What do you say ?

Can they call the police? Of course. People call the police because they hear squirrels in their attic. ;-)

Arrested or shot dead. See these threads:

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=36107&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If I knew that I had been made, I would beat feet and get as far as possible as fast as possible. If the cops showed up, my hands would be in the stratosphere.

Unintentional failure to conceal is not an offense.
PC §46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE
HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license
holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person
under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code,
and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.
However, as Seamus said, people call the cops for squirrels in their attic.

As others have posted, there could be trouble, but accidental exposure is not against the law. IANAL.

Crossfire beat me to it. :tiphat:

Or, as they used to say in the old Western movies "Reach for the Sky".

Unintentional failure to conceal is not a criminal offense, but the cops tend to get excited about it if someone notices and calls them.

Being arrested is no fun at all, and they tell me that getting shot is even less pleasant.

My ex-wife called the police once because she heard birds chirping around 3 in the morning and she thought they normally quiet so maybe they were acting like watchdogs.

But I do take precautions, clothing choice (Extra Tall Tee-shirts etc) so the likelihood of an unintentional failure, though not a crime.is highly unlikely, so I don't worry about it.

...acting like watchdogs.
They probably were, but they were watching a cat or owl.

They couldn't care less if your house was ransacked.

Well,...I've never been shot. Gettin' arrested and jailed almost 50 years ago wasn't any fun and I 'spect it ain't got no better.

First of all, "concealed is concealed". Absent that, follow seamusTX and WildBill's' advice above and di di mau...if the police are already there, empty hands and arms are way up in the air.

I thought someone was using a hacksaw to shorten a barrel when I saw the thread title.

My shirt hung up on my grip once when I got out of the car at the local Kroger and I thought the guy leaving the store with his cart would have to push his eyeballs back in by hand.....I quickly saw what he was staring at, fixed the shirt, smiled at him and went on in. All in a matter of seconds. No issue, no scene. I'm glad he wasn't the nervous Nellie type, or I'm sure I would have had LEO's all over me in no time. As someone once told me, you can't control the weather, you can only be as prepared as possible.

Actually, if you've accidentally exposed your gun, it is legal as long as it is accidental and not intentional. Now, to prevent someone from calling the police, you'd have to be confident. DON'T beat a hasty retreat. DON'T argue a la Erik Scott. Just look them in the eye, smile, and say, "Howdy, Ma'am." Then, correct your wardrobe malfunction. They'll just assume that you're an off duty police officer or something. Don't make a big deal out of it.

I once DROPPED a Glock 19 at a Japanese festival/fair and didn't even know it (don't use the Phone Pal, the leather loop is weak and WILL fail). A Japanese gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and said in accented English, "You dropped your airsoft." (lots of kids were playing with airsoft guns that day) I bowed 90 degrees (a sign of respect), "Origato, (thanks)" scooped it up and dropped it in my backpack. I was really crowded and probably 30-40 people saw my gun sitting on the floor, but nobody called the cops because I did not make a big deal out of it. I just smiled, looked people in the eye and thanked the gentleman who pointed it out to me. I continued to enjoy the fair the rest of the day without incident.
