That sounded very cowboyish, but actually I live in Austin (as liberal as Texas gets) and I work in the high tech industry (as nerdy as Texas gets). As soon as I get my CHL, I'll be a gun totin' liberal nerd. :biggrinjester: Ted (teds787)
Welcome Teds787. I am definitely not a cowboy. I don't live in Austin, and I'm probably not a liberal, but I work in a high tech industry, where I may be a nerd, but I definitely have my CHL. :txflag:

I have been lurking for a little while and now just this evening I just broke rule 13 for listing a firearm for sale. I now feel like the biggest bone head for not reading the rules until after I posted. On another note I am happy to be here and have been reading several topics for ideas on how to carry and where to get good training. Below is some info on me:

Location: Spring
Age: 32
CCW: Taurus 1911
Method of Carry: Crossbreed Supertuck

Welcome to the Forum jdanderson. Don't feel bad. I have been known to do some "bonehead" things on this Forum.

Thanks. I find it very funny that I don't practice what I preach. I am a school teacher and I am always telling my students to read the directions before they start the assignment. If only I had one of them telling me the same thing.

I am happy to be here.

Hello Everyone!

59 and holding
Female
Engineer
Married, two grown sons, two precious little granddaughters
CHL pending (received at DPS August 26, 2010)
Texas U.S. Congressional District 10 (Mike McCaul)
Undecided how and what to carry. Hoping this forum will help me figure it out.

This is a great forum, a wealth of information from a lot of very fine people. I am grateful for the good stuff I've already learned here. It will be an honor to be part of the CHL community when I get my plastic.

Hello everyone,
I just joined a few weeks ago and haven't introduced myself yet, so here it goes.

Male
Early 20s
Soon to be married(in January)
CHL tenure: only a few weeks
Dallas
Engineering student/ medical school applicant
Currently carry a Glock 26 IWB in a Galco Triton holster with Corbon DPX +p rounds. Taurus TCP in the pocket as a backup or when attire does not suit such a thick brick of a gun that the Glock tends to be. The Taurus also likes Corbon DPX!

I have been checking this forum for the last few months, gleaning a tremendous amount of information. I thought it was about time that I joined and hopefully I will be able to contribute as well. A little about myself:
62 years old
Married, 3 children, 4 grandchildren ( I feel the best reason to have children is so that you can have grandchildren)
5 dogs, 2 miniature schnauzers (think small junk yard dogs) 1 chocolate lab ( somehow puts up with the miniature junk yard dogs). 2 mixed, smart as can be dogs that only get along with the lab.
Multiple yard cats. Only one house cat, shows no fear of the small junk yarders.
CHL holder, received my plastic last April.
I like Glocks and 1911’s (OK, i love 1911's and really really like Glocks) my carry changes as I rotate a number of different weapons. G22, G17 both Gen 4. Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 Park 45 cal, Springfield TRP Armory Kote 45 cal. Beretta 9000 9mm. Various other weapons including rifles and shotguns ( Mossberg “Maverick” 12 gauge with Knox stock for home defense)
BBQ Gun: Springfield Armory 1911 TRP armory kote with Galco owb cancelable holster. Beautiful weapon.
Drawer full of holsters both IWB and OWB.
I served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and the 82nd Airborne in Fort Bragg, NC

This has to be one of the most informative and friendliest forums that I personally have ever seen. What a great group with a wealth of knowledge that the majority is not only willing to share with others, but do so in a most helpful manner. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this.
But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.
