Hello all. I've been lurking for a few weeks, at the reference from a friend who is also a member here. At the time, I'm still waiting on my background check to clear (methinks the year I spent in Jersey is throwing them for a loop) to get my CHL, but have been doing quite a bit of reading around here. There is a ton of useful information here, and it appears there are a ton of knowledgeable members as well, so just to put it out there, thanks in advance for any answers to any questions I may have to ask at some point in the future. As to myself:

29 (30 in a couple of weeks)
Live in Baytown (born and raised here, hate the place, but wife says we stay)
Consultant - dealing with onshore manufacturing for products used in the subsea oil business, mostly control systems.
Married for just over 3 years, but we've been joined at the hip for over a decade now.
As noted, still waiting for my CHL to show up.
Currently have a RIA 1911 full size that I plan to carry when the situation allows, in a Crossbreed Supertuck, and a XD40 SC if I'm wearing baggy enough clothes. I got the go ahead from my better half to buy myself another pistol at the upcoming gun show at the end of the month, and I'm trying to decide what to get. I'm wanting something nice this time around (both of mine, as well as my wife's Walther PK380 are nice, but I want nicer), that wont be a bear to conceal and doesnt weigh nearly 3lbs like the 1911. lol

In addition to my new hobby, guns (I call it new because I'm just now getting into it for myself, even though I started hunting and shooting when I was about 8), I'm also an avid golfer and lover of American muscle cars. I've finally found a hobby that I can justify golf as a cheaper option to my wife.

Anywho, if you havent noticed from this post, I can get a bit long winded sometimes, so I'll go ahead and apologize in advance.

Hello All I am Matt. I am a 44 yr old Registerd Nurse living in Round Rock. I am married to my lovely wife for almost 20 yrs. My CHL is in the manufacturing stage and I hope to get it soon. I currently shoot a Glock Model 22. I will be looking to get a pocket carry 380 soon. I also have a 12 ga pump for home defense. I enjoy this forum very much. Thanks for having me.
