To top it all off, I'm leaving for vacation at the end of the week. I was really wanting to have my CHL by then. Last years vacation presented the two incidents that prompted me to finally get my CHL. I pray that nothing happens while I'm on vacation out of state and not carrying.
I'll have to wait until I get back to find out if it came in the mail.

We go on vacation Aug 15th and hopefully I will have mines. Like you said I really don't want to leave here without it. I don't want it to be a situation where I need it and not have it.

Well, my plastic arrived yesterday in the mail! It took 55 days from mailing to receipt of license. I will probably change my sig, so here are the complete stats.

CHL course Taken: 5/22/2010
Application Mailed: 6/1
Packet Received: 6/4
Online status visible: 6/30
Ink fingerprints rejected for quality: 7/5
Electronic fingerprints taken: 7/8
Fingerprint Complete: 7/15
Background check complete: 7/17
Mailed: 7/22
Plastic: 7/26

I hope for speedy completion for all the other June apps! I'll still hang around, this thread has the best people

Had a conversation with a guy from the dps (chl). I asked him about my background check taking so long and he stated that something came up. I was like what could it be but i forgot a had got a warrant for failure to appear which led to a arrest. He told me that shouldn't be a disqualifying factor and said whoever handling my application will just check to make sure and clear everything. I asked was that all I have to do in regards to clearing th background check and he stated yes. I was so happy to get that news. Hopefully I will get it sometime this week or next.

My husband and I took our class on 6/25. Mailed applications with fingerprints 6/28. Received by DPS on July 1.

Both of us have the same status

My fingerprints show "completed" today

Husband's are still under review I'm wondering if this is possibly because he was fingerprinted for a job in Florida many moons ago - during the Nixon presidency.

So how long did it take from Austin to your mailbox? Mine mailed on 7/23/10 and I have not got it yet, although I would expect to have it by Saturday. I was thinking to myself that I have never seen something go through the USPS so slow. Does DPS has a special "really slow shipping" program with the postal service or something? It is odd to me.

What is really freaking me out is how patient I have been since it mailed out.
