Much like the Germans in the previous century.
How so? Please explain.

It's law breaking, yes, but it is not actually a crime so it should not be equated with criminal behavior. You do know that illegal entry is merely a civil offense, like a traffic infraction?

And, you are aware, are you not, that traffic citations, despite being civil violations, are punishable by a fine; and if the fine goes uncollected, there is a warrant issued for your arrest?

My experience with the system is this I brought my wife here from China. Below is the detailed time line.

You will notice the last line were it says "6.91 Years" well had the system worked as it was supposed to that would be 3-4 years. Now over this time I spent 10's of thousands of dollars in travel, hotels and fees. All because our system is broke. These illegals are here illegally and should follow the process just like everyone else I don't care how bad their country is or why, it is their country they can fix it not come here and screw up mine. Honestly I support stopping any and all funds going to any country that has illegals here, sealing our borders by force if necessary. Don't care a bit about what Calderon thinks he has no grounds to complain about our system when his is so messed up.

Not to mention DEPORTATION! as well as getting banned for being here illegally.

8 U.S.C. § 1325 : US Code - Section 1325: Improper entry by alien
(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection;
misrepresentation and concealment of facts
Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States
at any time or place other than as designated by immigration
officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration
officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United
States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the
willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first
commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or
imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent
commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or
imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.
Are you really suggesting they can imprison someone up to 2 years for a "civil offense"? That sounds a lot like the penalty for a felony.

To Suthdj: I am sorry it took 6.91 years for you to obtain a green card for your wife. It took me 8 years to obtain my own green card, so I do understand (I hope to obtain citizenship quite soon). Don't you think it should be easier to obtain work visas and green cards? IMO, the USA needs more decent, hard-working people with clean records. There seem to be a lot of hurdles put in their way without any reason.

IANAL so I could be wrong. But I understand that despite the severe potential penalty, illegal entry is still a civil offense. I understand that traffic infractions, while still civil offenses, carry a penalty of up to one year in jail. If anyone knows for sure that illegal entry is a crime, I would welcome hearing from them and will retract my statement. Till then, my statement stands.

Currently our laws only hurt and delay those coming here legally. I believe there should be faster easier ways for people to come here however that does not give a free pass or excuses to come here illegally the people coming across the border are not the cream of the crop they are desperate people in search of an easier life and don't have much to lose. Some may be great people however they may also be the scum of the earth I would like to be assured of what types we allow in, hence our immigration laws and the processes, as much as they are broke they are in place for a reason.

Can you imagine the good it would do for the economy if those jobs became available during a period of high unemployment?

Can you imagine the good it would do for the country if we told Americans with no job skills they can take those jobs. More importantly, it's their choice to take those jobs or not, but no more welfare handouts. Can you imagine the good it would do if it doesn't matter their sex, race, religion, national origin, family status, or anything else. No more government handouts.

Can you imagine the good it would do for America is we reversed the socialist tide?
