The Department of Homeland Security is alerting Texas authorities to be on the lookout for a suspected member of the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group who might be attempting to travel to the U.S. through Mexico, a security expert who has seen the memo tells FOXNews.com.

This is going to be an ever-increasing event. Face it folks, we are just real lucky that they haven't successfully accomplished another terrorist event in this country. It sure isn't because this administration (and its great security controls) are on top of the situation. I don't know about the rest of you but I am sick of this. Come on, November!!

Heard on the radio today this last year had the MOST terrorist events/attempts on the US in history. Trying to find the article now..(I have weak google-fu).

So the fed govt fails at securing the borders and protecting the people....yeah, these are the people I want in charge of everything else in my life..the ones who can't even take care of their basic responsibilities!!

I fear this is but the first of several "alerts" that will be issued. They BG's are infiltrating our borders right now. News is getting out....finally. :banghead:

It will be interesting to note if there will be a spike in CHL applications because of this alert.....and the one's to follow.

Well, this will help me justify that new rifle

I guess that's what those national guard troops were sent down there for?

I heard on the radio yesterday that National Guard won't be permitted to use arms, etc. They are being deployed to provide administrative services, mechanical repair, drone monitoring, etc. to lighten the load on Border Patrol agents so they can be freed to do more.

This would be a real bag of worms if they were assigned to actual patrol activities. In a perfect world, any troops (such as the Marine Sniper team aforementioned) would absolutely have to be put through a minimum training regimen that resembles Border Patrol refresher training. You don't send Military personnel to conduct Civilian Law Enforcement activities, unless they are Military Police Battalions (even they would need to be trained to an extent).

My point is that you don't just send Military personnel out on the border and expect immediate results (fix).
