Re: March 2010 Applications
Sorry, guess I should have posted this sooner.
See below. It took me awhile from application/pin and taking class.

Same boat here. Hmm, I work in Round Rock, it would have been no issue to drop a little south on I35 on Monday to pick the plastic up in person...could have saved the State a little postage $$Teamless wrote:Yes, - no plasticsilverbear wrote:Has the mailman come by today?
Ah, well. Wednesdays need something to make them better, receiving the plastic would be just the trick.

Re: March 2010 Applications
I got home yesterday and went directly to the mail box.
There was the usual mismash of junk mail but then I spied a letter from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations!!
I went inside and opened it fully expecting it to be my legal plastic.
And it was.......But it was for my state Electrical license renewel.
However as luck would have it I did stop at the store before getting home and bought a lottery scratch ticket and won a $100.00.
So there was at least some silver lining at the end of the day.
Perhaps I can use that to try and purchase that rare gem called .380 ammo.

Copy that. Consider it a done deal. I will PM you as soon as I know.Teamless wrote:this is my official permission -Quahog wrote:if you want me to check your mailbox, just give me the ok and I will be happy to
if you get your license, then if you are willing and able, to check mine, please feel free to do so.
I assume that if you do not get yours, that I did not get mine, so no need to check.
Thanks!

Re: March 2010 Applications
Ya know, I'd much rather be in Quahog's and Teamless's position. At least you know you're approved. As of this moment, I still sit at the "processing" step. At my stage, I could still get my app rejected or returned for some more information.
Today makes it 30 days which seems about normal relative to the other recent time-lines. I just hope the wait isn't too much longer!

Re: March 2010 Applications
I couldn't take it anymore so I emailed DPS to see if they could give me an update. I also asked if my application would be impacted by the shutdown to support the Census.
Hopefully I'll get good news. I've done a lot of hoping lately and it's resulted in a lot of nothing. *Insert your own comment about Obama or politics in general*

Re: March 2010 Applications
I think when I emailed them, I had my first response back in 4 hours or so, and had 2 "re's" back and forth before end of day.HighHandicap wrote:so I emailed DPS
So hopefully they also have that time for you as well.
They seem to genuinely want to help.

Re: March 2010 Applications
I have e-mailed DPS several times for information. The person that has been responding always responds quickly, but he is kind of a butthead. I called once, and the lady that I talked to was very friendly, but she was unable to give any positive information either.

Re: March 2010 Applications
I got my response and it was the generic "Nothing in the system" response. Of course I lost my mind and emailed them back with more details. A few emails later, I realized that I'd left off a digit from my Driver's License number. Once we figured that out they were able to tell me that my application is "near completion". Woohoo!
I know, I know. That didn't tell me a lot more than I already suspected, but it's still nice to hear. Here's to hoping it still happens this week
