I was at 7 different WM's and 1 Academy last night looking for the Federal 9mm ($9.47/box 50) and only ended up with 1 box of WWB ($23.98/box 100). I planned on really breaking in my new S&W M&P 9c today, but it looks like I'm only going to be able to warm it up.Bill wrote:I was at 3 WM's and no 9mm, plenty of 40, does anyone know when they receive their shipments. Thanks, I was planning on going there today for a icechest. Guess I will be going sooner rather than later.RedRaider wrote:Academy at 59 and Shephard had Monarch 380 JHP ($16.99/box) as of Noon today. They had approximatley 15 50-round boxes when I left.

You better hurry, the guy at the counter was shocked that I was the first person to buy any today, said it usually is gone within an hour of hitting the shelf.Carry-a-Kimber wrote:Thanks, I was planning on going there today for a icechest. Guess I will be going sooner rather than later.
Re: ammo on sale
I just bought 4 boxes of .380 at academy yesterday ar $16.99 a box and I thought they had just raised their prices. Sure enough I just looked and they are JHP! Not sure if I would carry those rounds though...RedRaider wrote:Academy at 59 and Shephard had Monarch 380 JHP ($16.99/box) as of Noon today. They had approximatley 15 50-round boxes when I left.

I didn't notice they were JHP's until I got home.
They still work pretty good for target shooting though.

Re: ammo on sale
I actually found 2 WWB 100 round boxes of .380 today at the Walmart in Pella, Iowa for $35.97. I bought one and left the other for someone else.

Date and time of sighting: Tuesday, 5/4/10, 700 PM.
Location: Wal-Mart, FM3040/Hebron Parkway, near Vista Ridge Mall,
Lewisville, Denton County.
They had .17, .22, .25, .357 Magnum, 9MM FMJ(loads), .40 FMJ (loads), .44 Magnum.
NO .38, .38 Special, .380, .41, or .45.
Here's what was out of the ordinary on this trip:
About 15-20 boxes, 50 rounds each, Federal Premium, .40 JHP's, $22.97 per box.
The store clerk told me someone asked for them and his store was sent a bunch!

Re: ammo on sale
Both WM's in League City have stocked massive numbers of Federal .40 JHP for the past couple of weeks. The ratio of Federal .40 FMJ to 9mm is easily 4:1. If you own a .40, time to stock up.

Re: ammo on sale
I was at Bass Pro Shops yesterday and they were loaded up in all sorts of ammo. The only problem was that they are at least 25% higher than any other place in town. Some of the ammo was 40% higher. Thanks.... but no thanks.

Re: ammo on sale
That is exactly the situation here in Altoona, Iowa. You can find all calibers of ammo at the Bass Pro Shop, but who wants to pay nearly double. The .380 Remington wadcutter ammo is $33.97 per 50. I'm NOT paying that!!03Lightningrocks wrote:I was at Bass Pro Shops yesterday and they were loaded up in all sorts of ammo. Re: ammo on sale
About the only reason I go there anymore is when I have a giftcard. I just haven't been at all impressed with their prices. Even in other departments, there seems to be a premium that used to be associated with buying at the "finer" sporting goods stores like Cabela's.03Lightningrocks wrote:I was at Bass Pro Shops yesterday and they were loaded up in all sorts of ammo.
