Agreed! I had bought 4320 rounds before ever buying a rifle. Now up to 12k+.

I paid $599 for the last Bulgarian I bought and almost $500 for my Polish Tantal.

So this new, low price is a GREAT deal!!

It's a close 2nd. First prize goes to 7.62x25, at roughly 9 cents a round. Shipped, this 5.45 is costing me 12 cents a round at aim

Never shot a 5.45x39, but I hear its got the recoil of a .223, and alot more flat shooting than the 7.62. Is that about right?

Nope...I'd guesstimate he's just pointing to the fact that it's not the cheapest centerfire ammo on the market. 5.45 is the cheapest rifle centerfire ammo though!

the stock looks upside down? but nice looking rifle. i love the AK platform. wish ammo would go back down. i have a maadi in 762x39 and luv it! i picked it up for 300 a few years ago before things went crazy. i think the owner didn't know what they were doing because it would rip off fifteen rounds or so with one trigger pull, even when you let off. a tapco trigger group fixed it nicely though! i think he fooled with it trying to make a full auto and failed. i got it off gunbroker. you should leave it composite stocks. the traditional wood looks nice, but so does that one!

Yep, was referring to centerfire. The first gun show I ever went to was in the winter of 2003. I snagged a 1280 round sealed tim of yugo 7.62 brass for 80 something. Those were the days.

I wanted to get a SAR2 (5.45x39) a few years ago but couldn't find one so ended up with a SAR1 (7.62x39)

Do you think these will be showing up at gun shows at a reasonable price, like $50 markup or less?
When in doubt
Vote them out!

Good deal. The AK platform isn't pretty but they can take more abuse than the typical AR and still keep running.

I have been drooling over those for a while now. Aim also has some Lancaster AK74's on a Nodak Spud receiver for a decent price. I like Lancaster's fit and finish on the AK I bought from them. I think your deal is a winner though.
