Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
"Johnny Reb or Johnny Rebel was the slang term for any Confederate soldier, or the Confederate Army as a whole, during the American Civil War. His counterpart in the Union was Billy Yank."-wikipedia My dad is a huge history buff, and one of his favorite times to study is "the war between the states." He became a Civil War re-enactor and a commander in an SCV (Sons of Confederate Veterans) camp. Our whole family has dressed in period outfits before, and we've performed in re-enactments and living history events. One picture has my wife and I at a re-enactment in Bellmead, TX, and another picture is a bunch of us "cootering up" for battle in Gainesville, TX.

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
My screen name is the same one I use on all forums I visit. The origin comes from the fact that I am part Native American (Kiowa) and my dad taught me to track and scout at an early age. I've had several people ask me over the years if it was because I fly/flew an OH-58 KIOWA SCOUT helicopter. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

It may not make sense to anyone but me but my user name is "dthlss1" which is what I had widdled down to seven characters (the maximum number of characters you can have on a CA license plate) from "deathless one" which I got from the AFI (my favorite band) song, "A Story at Three." I've used it every since (about ten years now.)
Not a very interesting story, I admit; but that's the origin of my user name.

Those are nice. My dad had one of those in his reef tank. Saltwater is just a little too expensive and time consuming for me, so I keep fresh water.sixline wrote:Mine's from one of my favorite fish I kept for many years: Six Line Wrasse
As for my screen name, its the same as all of my forums I participate in. When I was 18 my parents gave me my first car. A 1991 Ford Econoline 150 (E-150). It was the beat up old thing my mom used to take me to elementary school in. It was a piece, but I loved it. Anyway my buddy and I were into mustangs and fast cars, but we had no money , but we both had ford vans. His was a '75 E-150 with a 351W and mine was a six banger. Since we didnt have a mustang, we would race our vans occasionally. Too bad his would always win. I just started calling it the E-150GT like a mustang GT. Pretty lame I guess. Even though the van is long gone, I still use it on all the forums so I can remember all of them since I am a member of 6 forums currently.

I am using my name from another forum, so it is what I drive Allison/Duramax.
In the Chevrolet Diesel truck the engine is a Duramax and the transmission an Allison,
usually I go with a pets name.

Well, mine is also kinda easy. I obtained the handle Griz back when the series "BEN" was so popular. I look a lot like the star of the show (hairy and heavy) and my favorite caliber is my 44 mag.
You may also see me on other systems as Griz4X4 because of my offroad-huntin-fishin-mudeating truck. It's kinda like me as well, old and tired, but just won't give up - ever....

Teamless was the first email address I had, but it started with my brother-in-law.
He lived in Cleveland OH when the Browns left.
He moved to Houston, then the Oilers left,
therefore - Teamless
yes, even though it was his, I seemed to use it for login names early in my internet use as I did live with him and my sister for a short time.

Huge fan of Springfield Armory products. The XD and XDM lines are my favorite tupperware pistols. Also love the Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec.

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I collect vintage Puma brand knives. Or I used to until the world went crazy and bids have gone far beyond the value. Sold them in the 60's and 70's when every one had to have a Buck 110 and mostly I was unsuccessful in getting them to appreciate the old world craftsmanship of Puma. Buck is a very good product but if you look at prices of a vintage Puma folding knife vs Buck of the same era... well 'nuff said. I still carry Puma.

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I have had a good number of muscle cars and every single one of them had a Texas flag background sticker that said Secede on it (going back 15 years). I have gone one step further with my newest car and have a variation of the spelling on my personalized license plate (either I am banned from having "secede" or someone else already has it. If you see an electric blue sports car in Houston with the personalized plate and an NRA sticker on the back window, that's me :)

My name is Aaron Spuler, so username is just my first and last name squished together. Not very original, but it works for me.
