OK, thanks that's the way that I interpreted it as well. I've already changed my address information with FL state but haven't gotten new plastic yet. It's 15 bucks, it's on my to do list. Thanks for helping.

Lots of Texas residents (including some forum members here) legally carry with a Florida CWP instead of a Texas CHL. The law makes no distinction about residency: a Florida CWP is valid in Texas.
Re: Just moved to TX
I'ver recently relocated to the Plano, TX area to be closer to my family, beside the economy in FL is in the gutter and I don't see it coming out any time soon.

As you can see from the above posts, there is a wealth of information here on the forum, and a great bunch of people to get to know.
What part of this great State do you now reside?

I figured you were by the handle. I dont think it would come from anywhere else. That is prolly my favorite TOOL song.

One of the great things about Florida is you don't have to pay for new plastic unless you want to. If you notify them of your address change the license is still valid. Plus you can do your address change online FREE.blu46and2 wrote:OK, thanks that's the way that I interpreted it as well. The law does not require a concealed weapon licensee to obtain a replacement license after a change of address. You can continue to carry your current license until it expires.

Once you have a residence you need to apply for a TX DL within 90 days I think.
