Took the class w/ Charles Cotton as instructor on 11/7/2009
Mailed Application on 11/9/2009
Blah, Blah
Recieved Plastic 12/5/2009
That's 26 days.

From Brazoria County!

Expected Plastic at best after the first of the year.

It sure appears something has changed in Austin!
BTW, I'm not complaining, for a change this change in government is positive for the people.

Thought I was going to set a record, but perhaps November was a very busy period and they were rushing out cards out before the holidays. Took me less than a month from application to license. Today was my first day to carry.

It would be great if all the lucky ones put their locations up so we know what Local PDs are responding quickly :nono:

From The Woodlands/Montgomery county. Took CHL in Harris Co. But we all send our applications to the same place in Austin so I'm not too sure what location has to do with it. What do the local PDs have to do with it?

Because the background checks are performed in the counties where you live and work.
Some counties are slower than others in getting the information back to DPS.

One of the most used excuses by DPS in terms of delays .."We're waiting on the background check to come back"

Collin/Dallas/Grayson counties were listed as places of residence and employment for my husband...three counties and he still got his processed in less than a month. :)
