Re: August 2009 Applications
Sent an email to DPS today and received an answer five (that's 5) minutes later.
Here's their answer: The license is being printed. You should receive the license within 1-2 weeks.
Due to the heavy increase in applications, the process is taking longer than normal.
Brighter days are ahead!

Congrats tartex! Good news! It won't be long now, and I think you'll get it within 2 weeks.....more like a week to 10 days if not sooner, IMO.

Long-time lurker. First-time poster. It's been nice to track the processing times, so I'll toss mine in.
I got my license in the mail this evening.
08/25 Package mailed (from the East coast on a business trip)
08/27 DPS received package
09/22ish PIN# arrived
??/?? Status Complete
11/06 Plastic in hand
That's right, status still says "processing".
71 days. I have had several white-collar jobs in the last 10 years. The only crime on my record was that I moved way north of the Red River for a couple of years.
FWIW, my father-in-law mailed his app into the state 6 days before me and received his card on 11/02. He's been retired for about 7 years, but he's only lived in Texas for about 8 or 9 years of his life.
I'll be the one that you can't tell is carrying a Kahr PM9 in a Crossbreed MiniTuck. Comfy.
Stay safe,
MD

Veterans Day - Thanks to all servicemen and servicewomen (past and present) for your service. Be Safe!!!
And, thanks to Texas DPS. Although it's a national holiday, somebody down there took the time to update my application status. Today it reads: "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active".
Looks like it's all up to the USPS now.
