Finally !! :cheers2:

I mailed my application on June 1 and finally received plastic on October 21; that is, according to my count, a 143 day wait!

There was one glitch in the process that I am aware of - I received a letter on 7/27 requesting a fingerprint card redo. I had that done immediately and had the new card mailed back only one day later, on 7/28. If I allow a generous amount of time for mailing back and forth of 4 days (4 days for DPS to receive the original app., 4 days to mail me the fingerprint card request, 4 days to return the fingerprint card, and 4 days for me to actually receive plastic in the mail) that deducts 16 days from the amount of time that DPS actually had to process the application. Deducting those 16 days means that DPS still took 127 days to work my application!

I report all of this not so much as a complaint but more to offer hope to others that may be waiting for what seems an inordinate amount of time - there is light at the end of the tunnel!

CHL Training class - 5/29/09
Packet sent - 6/1/09
Packet received - 6/4/09
Check cashed - 6/11/09
Received PIN - 7/10/09
Processing application - 7/10/09
In hand - 10/21/09

OK...

So, I called a couple/few weeks ago and was told my license was being printed.

Online status says "Processing."

I called today, here's what's up:

"...manufacturing problems."

"...a lot of licenses are being reprinted."

Well...
