Dog shooter of the week

#1

Post by seamusTX »

I'm starting this thread because dog shooting has become a regular trend.

Asheville, North Carolina, yesterday, police arrested a 65-year-old man and charged him with felony cruelty to animals, assault by pointing a gun and injury to personal property after he allegedly shot his neighbor's dog and pointed a firearm at a child.

It seems like people are just becoming more ornery. Maybe it's sunspots. I dunno.

They always keep the gun. They keep it at least until the trial is concluded. This is a felony charge, so it could be bye-bye forever.

That's why you need at least two.

I blame global warming.
Hard to keep your head when sweat is running in your eyes and a dog is barking incessantly.

In Fredericksburg, Virginia, this week, an Army Special Forces soldier was found guilty of misdemeanor charges for shooting a Labrador retriever that came into his yard several times.

He had been charged with a felony.

Dogs are pretty smart. I have run into few that couldn't be co-opted with a kind word and gesture. I haven't run into one yet that returned to a place where it had been yelled at and had blunt objects thrown at it (and I'm not Nolan Ryan).

Hammer. Nail.

A Pittsburgh-area man shot a dog to death while the dog was in a carrier inside the man's apartment. Yesterday he was sentenced to eight to sixteen months in prison (N.B.: this is a felony sentence).

Read this one if you think you are going to walk away from a dog shooting.

Better to be judged by twelve. Right.

From the story, her credibility was shot when she said the Basset was coming at her and she shot it. They found that the Basset was shot from behind.

Lesson here: Don't lie just to make your story sound better. You'll get caught, and It'll ruin your credibility on everything.

Also, a person can't credibly go into her house and come back out while claiming she was threatened by an animal that can't turn doorknobs.

Now now... I've seen plenty of dogs open closed doors. most are of the 'handle' type, and not the knob, but I've seen some service dogs do knobs too :P

Granted, never seen one get through a deadbolt from the outside....

In Moro, Illinois (not far from St. Louis, but still in the middle of nowhere), a man shot his own dog and buried the body. Neighbors reported gunshots, and the police are investigating the incident as a crime.
