Just wait till you get your PIN.
Then you will be like a kid in a candy store.

I also mailed my app this month. I live in Harris County so it appears thatI might be in for a long wait. :???: Any ideas on how long it takes from when DPS recv's the app until the status changes to Processing Application?

Hi Dad24GreatKids! Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us. :tiphat: There's a wealth of information here at your fingertips and a great bunch of people to get to know.

To answer your question, it took me 12 days to switch over from "packet mailed" to processing(see my time line below). Admittedly that's pretty quick. A VERY rough estimate is 2-4 weeks.

P.S. You can start a time line too if you wish, by going to User Control Panel---Profile---Edit Signature.

Hello Dad24GreatKids and welcome. It took 17 days from the day I mailed my packet until I was "in processing". Things seem to be getting a bit quicker lately, I've been seeing some 60 day or less waits judging from folk's timelines lately. Hope your wait is also short.
