I have recently been issued a TWIC card which requires similar background checks. Maybe that helped.

We will see when the wife gets her card.

Good job to Charles and the State of Texas so far.
Oh for crying out loud! That's unheard of! Well congrats zootfenster, and welcome to the forum! :clapping: :thumbs2:
I'm with joe! By reading the dates of receipts and others waiting, I don't suppose anyone here knows the rhyme or reason for the lack thereof of DPS? I don't know what a TWIC card is, but my gosh, I have an Active Duty ID Card, continually have background checks, more fingerprints than a felon, easy to find information since some of us are in multiple databases - I dunno, maybe the planets need to be aligned properly! "When the moon in in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars...."

At any rate, congrats zootfenster and definitely welcome to the forum! (Now, whoever you paid off :thumbs2: , tell 'em that you have a LOT of friends who are less than patient, awaiting their plastic! :evil2: :mad5 :banghead: )

I guess you know I'll be up at 3am with that song buzzing in my head NAVY CHIEF!! :waiting: :grumble I recorded that song for my wife 2 weeks ago, and just yesterday it settled down.

I honestly wish I knew what the criteria is for processing apps at HQ. The only thing I come up with is for a person to immediately get their license is:
1. That person has lived at one address for 30 years
2. That person has had only one job in 30 years, and works in their county of residence.
3. That person has never been arrested for anything in their entire life.
4. That person has never ever been late in paying any type of taxes, ever.

Funny (in a sad kinda way) that we can remember the most insignificant things, but we can't remember..... (I forgot what I was gonna say, dang it!)

Anyway, sleep well!

Sometime between 11:30pm Tuesday night, and 6:54am this morning, I switched from "processing application" to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active".

I'm really quite surprised that it only took 48 calendar days from the time DPS received my application to application complete-license issued.

I'm sure that by submitting ALL of the certified dispositions(of class C misdemeanors, self declaring those offenses, AND providing DPS with 2 pages of detailed explanations) of my past convictions that accompanied my original CHL application, helped expedite the process. I was also very concerned that my fingerprints would be rejected because to me they didn't look all that great. But I guess they were good enough to pass the litmus test, and that's all I wished for.

But of course! Cargo shorts(weather permitting), sunglasses, and some kind of hat. I'm undecided if I will get a haircut prior to the Walk though. The issue is still in doubt.

Well, I'm sure not gonna get all dressed up just to go to W.W.! Of course pictures will be taken! Dunno who's gonna run the camera but it won't be me.
