Re: June 2009 Applications
Oh yes!
This afternoon I was told that Xmmmmm had my file and they sent me to her voice mail. Don't know if that is good news of not?
I think that it may be better news because in the past few weeks all they would tell me was "they were waiting for information to come back". I think that that meant the FBI had still not run the BG on the second set of FP's.
So....at least I didn't get told they were waiting on information to come back.

Oh gosh LIA, I certainly hope so! Good luck to you!
I called down to HQ week before last and was told a tech had my file, and was sent straight to voice mail. Left tele.# & email addy, and have yet to hear back. Part of me hopes she does contact me, while part of me hopes she doesn't, ya know?
In any event, I really hope you're getting closer to closure!

Yeah, I got to leave all my info too...and of course nothing as courteous as a returned calljoe817 wrote: I called down to HQ week before last and was told a tech had my file, and was sent straight to voice mail. And, yes I know how you feel....if they don't call me then maybe there is no problem and maybe I won't have to answer any tough questions!!

Re: June 2009 Applications
Since my online status is "Processing Application" as it's been for months, I thought to myself today, "I haven't cried from feelings of helplessness in a while," so I called up to see if I could squeeze any more info from the CHL gods.
The nice phone rep said that my license was at the printers, and then that THEY would get it back, then it would come to me...
Some progress, I guess.
130 days and counting!!!

Congrats Joe and Sarge!
My wife is still waiting. She isn't nearly as anxious as I was waiting for mine.

Re: June 2009 Applications
How does one take pics of himself doing the Wally Walk?
I did stop at the Valero gas station and got a cup of coffee. Yes it felt weird carrying that Glock .45 cal under my shirt. I had to consciously not hold my arm out....and walk normal....I had this "urge" to have my right arm out further in a unnatural position. The gun is not even in the way...I don't know why I feel that urge to hold my right arm further from my body than normal when walking.....there is no reason for it....but it all went well....got my coffee...went to the feed store...shot the bull with the boys...nobody said anything...I didn't say anything and I don't think anybody noticed or they would have commented for sure....
I had my Glock model 36 with the Peirce +1 extension...in a SERPA paddle holster...never moved....Driving nor walking did I even really notice it at all....not in the way of the seatbelt....nothing...Wore blue jeans and my regular shirt with a collar...covers everything nicely...all my untucked shirts fall about pocket length and my setup for all my carry pistols ( Glock 36/27 and S&W 9VE) all are above that pocket line...so I wear my regular clothes...nothing special...I like the way the paddle holsters put the gun up higher rather than lower.....I can get into my right front pocket and get my billfold no problem....as the gun is in between the two and up higher.....so it is perfect....No Don Ho shirts for me
I would be remiss if I did not thank the forum here for all the info on this board and the individuals who make it "lively"...you guys know who your are

Re: June 2009 Applications
Sarge, it doens't take long to "walk normal" when carrying. It took me a while to get used to carrying. I had only been around handguns for a short time before I got my CHL and it only took a month to get comfortable with concealed carry. And to realize that no one was looking for a gun!

and there is the key point. Nobody (except maybe another CHL holder or LEO) is looking for a gun. Half the sheeple don't even consider it a possibility that you have a gun on you. If you can't actually see it, it isn't there right?
