CHL Class: 8/1/09 (thanks Charles)
Plastic Received: 9/18/09
I have recently been issued a TWIC card which requires similar background checks. Maybe that helped.

We will see when the wife gets her card.

Good job to Charles and the State of Texas so far.

Westex, this may not be the time nor the place for this, but I thought I'd pass along something that our CHL instructor said.

Once you reach the 'license issued or certificate active' point, if you are stopped by a LEO (law enforcement officer) you should, as a courtesy, also say that "by the way you are expecting your CHL license in the mail but haven't received it yet, and are not carrying yet of course".

The instructor explained that when the officer runs your drivers license it will also show that you already have a CHL and he'll be very upset with you that you didn't show him your license.

Just thought I'd throw that out here for when you're already processed but haven't actually received the plastic. BTW, congratulations!!
