I just wanted to add that me and my father both took our CHL course in March and it is now Sept. 3rd.
I just got my completion notice on the site today and it took a stern e-mail to the DPS took get it.
So I will agree if it has been a long time since you applied I would surely shoot them an e-mail asking what the hold up is.

I know that they are swamped with applicants but 6 months is outreageous... and by the way my dads is still pending so I told him to contact them as I did.

You bugged them and your got yours quicker buy 30 days or so.
I think that's the same bro.
BriN wrote:So, for those of you who are curious about whether bugging DPS and your state reps helps, I have a little anecdotal evidence. We ran a little experiment in my house since I was very anxious for my license and my wife was interested but not quite as obsessed. As soon as I hit day 60, I was all over it. I called DPS every 10 days or so, I emailed and called my state rep and state senator on many occasions. I bugged the crap out of them. I received my "Active" notification on Day 143 (Harris County).

We made no contacts on my wife's whatsoever. She had no issues with the paperwork just as I didn't as she only had checks in Harris County just as I did.
The only difference was that I was an early February application and she was early March. She received her "active" notice on Day 179.

So, while perhaps it should be taken with a barrel of salt, in our situation, bugging them allowed me to get it a month faster than she got hers.

I didn't say I got mine a month before she did, I said I got mine a month FASTER... bro

And I also gave you the number of days - 143 for me... 179 for her. That is a 36 day difference. Last I was in school, 36 is different than 0.

So, to clear up any confusion for those that need it spelled out... I received mine in at the beginning of July and she is currently waiting for her's to arrive. By MY count, that is 2 months after. When one subtracts the month difference between when we took the classes, I still got mine a month faster. :thumbs2:

Been living under a rock.... Just found this site yesterday and signed up to see if the magic would rubb off. It did. Woke up this AM to see "App Approved." All Coincidences, Karma, and Luck aside, my thanks to the founder and mods for creating a great TEXAS CHL site. Looking forward to leaving "The Waiting Room" and exploring all the many great threads here. :thumbs2:

Ah ha! You joined yesterday, and TODAY you got the good news you are all approved! No you are not in the Twilight Zone, even though we control both the horizontal ----- and the vertical |||||. :smilelol5:

Coincidence perhaps? I think it's just a matter of perfect timing. Congrats!

I have a feeling that the student loan back ground was holding everything up! That is why they had to change the law so it wasn't part of the process anymore! So now that it is Sept. and they don't need that background anymore then they started cranking out all the ones held up waiting for the student loan background! Just my theory but they sure are cranking them out now!! :clapping:

Had to have new print card made. Just called DPS CHLB to see if they had the new set and if they were usable. Was told that they show that they have been received and they are just waiting on the "information". Hmmmmm  .....wonder what that means?

I guess more patience will tell what that means, right?! :waiting:

Hi, everyone.

I took my class in mid July, and sent my app in almost immediately. Unfortunately, I got a
status telling me that the application was incomplete and a detailed letter had been sent.

I missed a signature on the online application form. So, I signed it and returned it the next
day, but the status has been the same until today...

Today, it finally reads Processing Application!!!

On the other hand, today my friend who took the same class I did checked and his status
was "Application Complete"

So, hopefully I'll have some good news soon! Then it will be wally-walk time...
