I keep thinking of "Thing" on the old Addams Family show. The mailman opens the box and my hand creeps out to pick up the mail.........

My friend was at day 97 when he hit Application Complete. That was last Tuesday and he STILL hasn't gotten plastic. He called me as he was opening his mailbox today and needless to say he let forth a very R rated barrage! He said this last week has been harder than the other 97 days.

Tell him to hold on a little longer. He's just literally days away from getting it.

Application completed isn't much better than still processing. Now we hope the police don't run our driver's license for any reason. If they do then they will say you didn't show me your DL. No DL today.

I just hit "Application completed" today...my 113th since the packet arrived in Austin. Sure it means a little bit of a wait, but I now have a lot more confidence I'll actually get it sometime this year.

Have any of you guys that have exceeded the 60-day limit considered contacting your local network news affiliate? In San Antonio, KENS-5 tv has a thing called "Eyewitness Wants To Know", and they champion people's causes for them - things just like this. I know I sure plan on doing that when/if mine goes over 60 days.

If something is gonna light a fire under DPS's collective butts, it's when the media comes knocking on their door.

I would not contact the media.
Knowing them they would put the spin on it and make bad for CCW

As of 9-1-2009 they made some changes to the process that will speed it up a bunch.

What is your definition of "a bunch"? Is it below 60 days, or below 100 days? :)
