Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
Wanted something to identify my location in my user name. Couldn't use other use names because they have name variants.

Expat stands for Expatriate. I was called an expatriate when I went to work for the government in Iraq as a private contractor. I have no idea why you are an expatriate, I don't love my country any less. I guess it is just what the contracting world is calling people now.

Welcome to the forum.
The definition of expatriate is someone who is living outside the country that he is a citizen of. It's normally applied to people working abroad, like diplomats or contractors.

I am in the Navy (Active Duty) and in the best Rank - Chief Petty Officer! Hence the handle "Navy Chief". The only rank in the military that sets it's E-7 to E-9's apart from the rest. Can you say "Tested, Selected, Initiated" ?
