Just in a good mood today.

My wife has taken to stopping by Acadmey when she is in the general area to try and get ammo. Apparently she missed the elusive 380 by a mere couple of hours today (I bet they say that to everyone!). She is a real gem. She has taken to carrying where ever she is permitted and even looks and tries guns on her own...something she would never have done last year.

I did bag some 45 tonight. 250 rounds of Remmington for $95. I always feel good when I get to add to the stockpile. I only had 75 rounds before tonight and I am getting to where I like at least 500 per gun for each caliber. Still a little bit low on 45 but I know where I can get some at least. :fire

you said you were a feb app. And she was a march app.
You bugged them and your got yours quicker buy 30 days or so.
I think that's the same bro.
BriN wrote:So, for those of you who are curious about whether bugging DPS and your state reps helps, I have a little anecdotal evidence. We ran a little experiment in my house since I was very anxious for my license and my wife was interested but not quite as obsessed. As soon as I hit day 60, I was all over it. I called DPS every 10 days or so, I emailed and called my state rep and state senator on many occasions. I bugged the crap out of them. I received my "Active" notification on Day 143 (Harris County).

We made no contacts on my wife's whatsoever. She had no issues with the paperwork just as I didn't as she only had checks in Harris County just as I did.
The only difference was that I was an early February application and she was early March. She received her "active" notice on Day 179.

So, while perhaps it should be taken with a barrel of salt, in our situation, bugging them allowed me to get it a month faster than she got hers.
