I guess modifying your AR-15 doesn't count as building. I like bolt-on/add-on stuff as I am probably not discriminating enough to tell a finely built weapon from a store-bought with gadgets added.
If my AR doesn't jam and gives me tight-groups I am happy.

Note: I will admit to being envious of those with the innate ability to make stuff.

EDIT: My Bushmaster says, ".223 Caliber-5.56mm" on the magazine well.
